2012!
Whew! What a whirlwind those holidays were! Thanks everyone for a great time throughout the season, we had a blast at Youth CHRISTmas Day and shredded the ice at Copper on the youth ski trip. We’ve had a strong start to the year with consistent youth group attendance and some great new faces! I encourage you to join us for Good Shepherd’s annual meeting this Sunday (Jan 29th) at 10:30am following the only morning service at 9am. It will give you insight into the changes and plans unfolding in 2012 and an opportunity to celebrate 2011.
Coming up after the annual meeting we’ve got registration for Quest2K12 conference opening, mission trip planning and check in meetings, more Youth Sundays every last Sunday of the month and our regular faith formation on Sunday nights at youth group! December! Happy Holiday Season, here’s the details for what’s coming up…
Ok here it goes all the info you need to know for the upcoming celebrations with GS Youth
On Saturday, Dec. 17th we will have our annual Youth CHRISTmas Day from 7:30am to midnight. The lock in portion of this event has been canceled. This event is $30 (partial/full scholarships are available, contact me ahead of time) and for middle and high school students and their friends! Signups are closed and an email with what to bring, etc will be sent next week. We will be doing service projects throughout the Denver area, having fun with scavenger hunts and such, seeing the light of the season and celebrating each other during this frantic holiday time.
Our initial informational 2012 Mission meeting is Sunday, December 18th at 5pm!! At church, this meeting is for all middle and high school students AND their parents. Look for signs on the door for where we’re meeting in the church.
Then on January 2nd (It’s a Monday) the youth and I will head up to Copper Mountain for a ski trip with St. Michael’s of the Springs. We will meet at church at 6am, spend the day, grab dinner and head home that evening. This weekend is the last weekend to sign up on my office door, so if you haven’t done so.. check it out. Cost is $60 for 17 and older, $49 for 13-17 year olds. We’ve got plenty of adults helping out for this event so whether you can drop into the back bowl, are brushing up on your skills or need a lesson, join us!
Holiday Season Gearing Up!
Hi everyone, November is practically here and we have many exciting things coming up with Good Shepherd and it’s youth ministry. On the 6th of November we will head to St. Timothy’s Episcopal down the street on Dry Creek to visit with the presiding Bishop of the United States, Katherine Jefferts. This event is just for youth and will include dessert, fun and conversation, please plan on getting dropped off and picked up at St. Tim’s, the event is 1-3:30pm. Then we have youth groups thrown in there, ending the month with a Thanksgiving Leftover hour at 303 Coffee of Yosemite and County Line Rd. from 12-1:30pm on November 27th.
Then holy cats it’s December! In December we have the GS Advent party, youth group, the annual Youth CHRISTmas day and many celebratory services on Christmas Eve and a 10am service on Christmas Day. As we head into Winter we will be keeping with our Connecting in Jesus 6 week series. Along with our Sunday night youth groups we have the Mission NOLA Reunion Dinner, Thanksgiving Service and Pie Social, the GS Advent Party, Youth Christmas Day and a ski trip coming on January 2nd! Genesis
Thank you to all those who registered for the upcoming Genesis Youth Conference! Once it gets closer you will receive an email with the weekend’s information, a packing list and other details.
Paintballing outing is coming up!!
The GS Youth are heading to the fields for some paintball!
Coming up the youth group takes to the field’s for some Dynamic Paintball on September 18th! We will meet at church at Noon and leave from there, this outing is for middle school and high school students and youth will need to sign up ahead of time no later than September 11th. Cost is $30 per person and scholarships are available; contact me at 303-740-2688 for more details. Cost includes your field entrance, rental fee (mask, goggles, gun, and air) and paint. Feel free to bring your own supplies but let me know ahead of time. I am also recruiting adult volunteers who would be available to help with transportation and join in the fun! Sign up on my office door by September 11th.

Farewell Seniors!
With bittersweet feelings we say goodbye to our graduating seniors. We have been blessed to have them be apart of the Good Shepherd family and know that God will guide them in their next steps of life!
